There was something extra special about this wedding. Like there was an added layer of “joy” over the entire Schneider Ranch. Maybe it was the fact that it was a destination wedding and it was a vacation for most people…I dunno. All I do know is that this was one of the most happiest weddings I’ve ever been had the pleasure of photographing.
And there was a lot more to it than that. For me personally at least. I think there is this extra bond you form with clients that love your work enough that they are willing to pay for you to travel to wherever there wedding is going to be. I love it.
The trip started off with me on a plane to Austin, along with six other people also attending the wedding. Weather was suddenly an issue. We got diverted to San Antonio and our flight to Austin was a legit roller coaster. The next day…the wedding day…I woke up to pouring down rain. And it kept raining. 8am. 9am. 10am. 11am. But I kept watching and I had faith it was going to move out soon.
And it did. The rain broke around 1pm and the day became magical.
I love Cori and John to pieces. We had such a blast on their engagement shoot. I knew them already from Misti’s wedding last year. Which meant I also knew a good chunk of the bridal party. All that to say…this was almost like getting to hang out with old friends at one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to for a wedding.
I probably could gush all day about this wedding…but I’d rather you get to the photos. They tell the story. Such beautiful moments and laughter, amazing details and and food…and all the work that went into this thing. Her parents poured a slab for the dance floor! Cori’s father planted St. Augustine grass JUST for the aisle! I mean…it was over the top epic.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them. And I have to give mad props and a HUGE thank-you to Julie Whilite for agreeing to help second shoot for me and doing a fantastic job.
Also…there are a LOT of pictures…sorry, can’t be helped.
