Wow. Eli is already a year old. It’s absolutely incredible how time flies.
Yesterday was his birthday…but today was the anniversary of when we first met him. Only about 36 hours old. Such a tiny little bundle of wrinkles. And those cheeks. Which he’s kept this entire time! People love his cheeks!
Putting this blog post together was kind of awesome. Being able to see the entire year in pictures was joy. And it also made me realize how thankful I am. To God for blessing us with Eli. The off-chance that a friend of a friend knew some people trying to help a grandma place her unborn grandson for adoption. And then that someone thought of us. And then talking to the grandma. And then realizing this was happening.
But the biggest miracle of all…when we needed help in raising the money to make the adoption work…people responded. Family, friends and strangers. People who heard our story and wanted to help. We have friends who still talk about that day…how it not only was moving for Jina and myself, but how it inspired them as well.
Above all else though we are blessed with a little dude who is full of joy. Yeah, he can scream so loud that you’d think someone was poking his eye out…but the smiles, the laughs, his little personality, his love of anything resembling a wheel, the 4-5 haircuts he’s already had, his love of baths…all of it. Mostly though…he’s our son and we couldn’t imagine life without him.
So thank you again to all of you who helped make this possible. If you’ve missed any of these photos along the way, here’s Eli’s story for year one.
We love all of you for helping make him part of our story.
and here he is yesterday…on his birthday 🙂
