In early July I had to photograph a wedding in La Jolla, so we packed up the family and made it a three-day weekend. Also joining us was our friends the Hoskins…Aaron helped out with the wedding as a second shooter, Marisa and kids hung out with Jina and kids while we were working. In between the wedding though, we hung at the beach and had an awesome time.
Lyla and Isaac were maybe kinda dating by the end of the trip, I dunno…all I DO know is Lyla cried when she realized she wasn’t going to see him again for awhile haha.
Here’s some of my favorites from those few days.
It’s so weird how quickly things can change. Over a year ago my wife and I started the adoption process and ended up being certified in a group of other couples looking to grow their families. We met Tim and Dana in that class and really got to know them better as the months went on.
Now zoom to the present and they are two of our closest friends AND we both have babies we’ve adopted! I mean…you just have no idea where life will lead you.
We love these guys to pieces. Being able to tag along their journey to adopt River was amazing. Just looking at their beaming smiles the first time we saw all three together was so heartwarming. And now…River is like seven months old and turning into the cutest little girl imaginable. Her eyes are super delicious and the camera loves them.
Had fun hanging with these guys last week and cannot wait to see how little River continues to grow up! She’s crazy beautiful guys and I’m so happy for you!
It’s been a long time since I was in high school. A long time. In fact, the big two-decade reunion is coming up next year. Yikes. Feels like so long ago.
For Brianna though, it’s her final year and the sky is the limit. She loves playing guitar and may attend a college here in town or in California, perhaps the San Francisco area. She doesn’t know yet, which is half the fun of being in her position. Nothing is written, you get to find your path.
She showed up for her session with family in tow…older sister down from Flagstaff just for the pictures, her brother the Dbacks-Red Sox fan and both parents, the dad of which kind of resembled Steve Jobs. You can decide for yourself further down.
Loved hanging out with these guys for awhile. They were a ton of fun and you could tell how much they loved each other.
I wish you all the best of luck going forward! Especially Brianna and this awesome new chapter of your life. Thank you guys!
This is my favorite time of year. I usually have a bunch of days off between Christmas and New Years to simply rejuvenate and hang with family. I love it. There is really nothing I look forward to more.
Well, other than stormchasing in the Midwest each spring. Or the monsoon season. Or…well nevermind.
I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and leave you with some shots from this past Wednesday. We met up with some friends, ate some grub and took a trolley ride to look at some awesome light displays in the East Valley. We finished up by checking out the amazing lights at the Mormon Temple in Mesa…it was truly spectacular.
I pray you all have an amazing time with friends, family and loved ones this coming weekend and all the way to 2012!
This guy had a Nikon, I told him I couldn’t speak to him based on principle.
In case you didn’t know, there was a Beagle at the birth of Jesus.
So I heard through the grapevine that the Klein girls were getting on my case for posting sneak peeks of Tatum and Irelynn, but not Katy and Maddy! I knew that was going to happen and I also knew if I posted the Williamson shoot today, I had to get the Kleins’ out as well. Especially considering it all took place at the same place on the same night!
Sorry for the delay girls, but here you go!
This is another one of our most favorite families in the world. The parents decided to sit this one out (even though I still got a shot of Matt anyways!), so it was just the girls having a blast. You can so totally see the love these guys have for each other. It’s amazing to watch.
Well, check it out for yourself.
And thanks to the Kleins…you guys were my first ever photoshoot over two years ago and now it’s a fall tradition!
Over 10 years ago, my wife and I bought our very first house as a married couple. Shortly after the best neighbors ever moved in next door. We became great friends…Scott and I sent in an audition tape to The Amazing Race, we all played Settlers of Catan usually 1-2 times a week and we won a softball championship together. Yeah, it was a co-ed D-league, but we were proud.
Now here we are…Chad is a grown up 16-year-old about to head to college early…and Scott and Deb have this beautiful daughter EV who is four already. This past Sunday we visited The Groves in Chandler for a short little mini session to grab some photos of the fam. Scott and Deb actually had their engagement photos taken there many years earlier, so it was fun for them to return.
Thanks so much guys for inviting me back to take some holiday photos for you again.
Last Sunday I got together with two families that I’ve known for a long time now. A couple of short mini-sessions took place out in Chandler and I just had to post a few images.
The top photos are of a little bundle of adorable named Tatum and this is the third straight year I’ve had the pleasure of taking pictures of her and her family for Christmas. She’s a few weeks younger than my own daughter Lyla and they are what sub-three-year-olds would consider “best friends.” Now of course I think Lyla is the most beautiful thing on the planet…but Tatum is right up there. I mean, look at that face.
And you have to throw EV into that mix as well. We’ve been friends with her parents long before she was born, and now seeing her grow up right before our eyes is just amazing. She has piercing eyes and some fantastic redish hair.
I love both of these families and am eternally thankful to them for allowing me to capture these moments for them every year.
Stay tuned for more pics guys!
