I’ve driven past Picacho Peak a million times when I’m out chasing and I’ve tried to get lightning hitting it or close to it for a long time now…but never have been happy with a single one of those attempts.
Until last night. Storms blew up over the hills just east of the peak and I was shooting that mountain range until bolts started landing over Interstate 10, so I grabbed the 135mm and focused right on the peak itself and less than a minute later this bolt blasted from the sky!
I’d love to get one actually hitting the top someday, but until then, this will have to do 🙂
