I love this wedding. LOOOOOVVVVVE IT. For so many reasons. Primarily it harkens back to a wedding I photographed a year and a half ago. Julia and Peter. That’s where Amanda and Chris met for the first time in person and the wheels were set in motion for this past Saturday.
Stuff like this is an added bonus for me. I mean, who knew when I took the below photo back on November 10th, 2012…that it would end up on their sweetheart’s table at their own wedding in 2014? How COOL is that??
In fact, when Amanda emailed me about shooting her wedding, one of the big reasons they were interested in me (other than my unbelievable skillz and humility), was because I shot Julia and Peter’s big day. It was all connected for them. And thus for me, even more meaningful.
These two just make you happy. Amanda couldn’t help but fight back her tears all day. When she put her dress on, she Skyped with her sister back in Japan who couldn’t be there. More tears. More smiles and joy. The toasts were amazing. The two best men gave speeches that rivaled any I heard before. Simultaneously roasting poor Chris, but at the same time, forcing you to fight back your own tears because of how much they truly love and respect this guy.
So I not only got to hang with these two all day, but I got to see Peter and Julia which is always a pleasure, and ALSO my two neighbors from a few houses down, Sydney and Jake. Yes you guys, I threw in a few shots of both you couples because…well I just had to. You guys rock.
Thank you Amanda and Chris for bringing me along for your adventure together. It was such an honor for me. You two are amazing. I wish you the best in life and have fun in Cancun!!!
The wedding ceremony was held at the Brophy Chapel and the reception was at the Phoenix Country Club. It’s an epic venue for a reception and thanks so much to Robert Roth for making us feel right at home. And to Victoria Canada Events, thanks for putting on such a great event! And I REALLY have to give a shout-out to The JJ’s Band…they are SOOOO great. I would hire them in a heartbeat for my own wedding. This was the second time participating with them at an event this year and they always fill the dance floor and create such an amazing party atmosphere.
As always, thanks to Jeff Ambrose for killing it with his photos, many of which you see here.
Without further ado…here’s a bunch of my favorites to help tell the story of Amanda and Chris’ wedding this past Saturday.
