Speaking in public has been something I’ve shied away from most of my life. Early on it was a huge deal and it wasn’t until the last few years that I’ve somewhat conquered that fear and embraced it instead. Because of a lot of the media interviews I’ve done, it’s made it easier. But the biggest way I’ve overcome the fear was Ignite Phoenix last year. A short, five-minute talk…it boosted my confidence to a new level.
This Friday, June 6th, I’ll be speaking at the Sedona Photofest for about 50 minutes on the topic of storm chasing. I was humbled (and a little bit nervous) when I was asked to be a part of it by Scott Stulberg, but I of course said yes because this is an amazing opportunity.
You can see all the presenters right here (one of them is Julieanne Kost!). My talk is from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, and then there is a short little ballet to one of my storm timelapses right afterwards.
This is short notice, but I realized I had never written about it until now! If you happen to be up there, please say hello!
