Meet Eli

Just twelve days ago my wife and I asked for help to adopt a baby boy who was due on the 14th of February. Those that follow us on Facebook and Twitter already know this, but the baby came early.

Little Eli Charles was born on the 5th and today marks his week anniversary being a part of our family. It’s also, ironically, the day he was due! It’s unbelievable how fast all of this happened and how much our lives have changed in last seven days.

The first night was pretty rough. Not much sleep. The realization sinking in that…holy crap…we adopted this baby and he’s now ours forever! We of course have a kid already, but bringing a newborn home makes you realize just how easy it is to take care of a 3-year old.

Since then though…this little bundle of chubby cheeks and sleepiness has squirmed his way right into our hearts and already he feels just like our own.

Here are some frames from the first week.

Congratulations Mike. You have a beajutiful family and eli is adorable. The shot of the dog made me laugh. Looked like my dog did when we brought kids home…wasn’t too impressed. 🙂

These totally had me going “awe” all the way to the very end. Congrats to you and your family. Also, that dog looks sooooo sad in that shot. Think of these long sleepless nights as training for Monsoon season 😉
