I’ve been wanting to do a promo reel for my business ever since I first saw one done for another photographer. But that was over three years ago and I knew I wasn’t ready. I honestly had no idea who I was at the time. It was late in 2011 when I felt like I finally began to find my true voice as a photographer. That story is something I will tell at another time. Today I want to talk about this video and how it’s the culmination of everything I’ve done with photography and my life up until this very…

I may not have mentioned it before, but since last November, I’ve been working with Alejandra from Imaginale on my first ever promotional video! It’s super exciting and I cannot wait to see the final product hopefully around a month from now. But when you do a promo video, it’s not something that just “happens” overnight. You want to pick the right moments, the right people, the right situations to really tell the story of who you are. Emma and Brian were married late in November and it ended up not working out schedule-wise to have Alejandra there. But I…

When Mariel said something about me going along with them to shoot guns, I was intrigued and excited. I mean…when you do a lot of engagement shoots, it’s always fun to toss in something different now and then. And I couldn’t have possibly had more fun. When Ben whipped out a couple of bandoleers I was blown away. These peeps were serious! And then two shotguns, the silver one of which I want badly. Of course, they were way more dressed up than you normally would be at an outdoor shooting range, but it was awesome. Ben and Mariel’s first…

Words really cannot express how much fun these two are. I literally told them to go stand by a wall and then didn’t have to say much the rest of the shoot. They just know how to have fun together. Which is a good sign in my book. Matt owns and runs a cross-fit business in the East Valley and both of these two are in crazy good shape. Some of their “feats of strength” during  our photoshoot amazed me. Like the first photo below. My knee would have exploded if I tried that! We did some filming for my…

Jeremiah and Apinya are getting married in Thailand. In fact, they either already have or are about to. They wanted some portraits of themselves in wedding attire with Arizona as the backdrop before they had photos taken over in Thailand. I couldn’t think of a better place than the Superstitions to do photos, so here’s some of them from the day. They were a hoot and we had a blast!

A frame from last night’s engagement shoot with Ben and Mariel. It was overcast all day until this brief moment before sunset. Ridiculous light.

Nothing makes me happier than a dog named Bowser. I mean…how awesome is that? Josh and Roxanne are getting married alllll the way in December, but we met up a few weekends ago to take some photos around Flagstaff and up in the snow. It turned out to be pretty stinkin’ cold out and the spot I had picked out up on Humphrey’s Peak had over a foot of snow and we didn’t last too long there. But we had an awesome time and I’m in love with these photos. It helps when you have two people so in love…and…

2013_KaitlinTom_9222

Tom and Kaitlin live in Tucson and the first time we ever spoke was over Skype and we immediately connected. I think it helped that we had a nerd connection with our love of science fiction and Firefly, but also The Walking Dead! We hung out for some engagement photos a few weekends ago, had a couple drinks and explored downtown Tucson a bit. Their wedding is in only a few weeks at the beautiful Tucson Museum of Art…it’s an awesome spot in the historic district and I can’t wait to celebrate their day with them! It’s almost here guys!…

Nothing cuter than a couple and their little Yorky in the middle of the snowy aspens up north of Flagstaff. Wedding is in December, can’t wait!

It’s the same ol’ story…a guy is playing World of Warcraft in Australia, a girl is playing the same game in Phoenix…they meet online, then in person and then they realize they want to spend the rest of their lives together! I love Christie and Simon’s story and I cannot wait for their wedding down the road in Sydney! They have a lot of work to do, visas to get and plans to make, so I am wishing them the best of luck in all of that. A huge undertaking. Here’s some pictures from the Botanical Gardens and then around…
