It was raining most of the morning and early in the afternoon, so much so that the ceremony was moved inside…but, I was watching the radar and guessed that around 3:30, the rain would move out and things could clear up. Sure enough, the rain stopped and Kurtis made a command decision to move the ceremony BACK outside…daring it to rain again.
But it didn’t…and it was a brilliant call. The day was perfect, the lighting unbelievable…and everything worked out perfectly.
The views of Camelback Mountain were stunning as well…first time at Mountain Shadows, it was a great venue!
My last wedding of 2019 was also one of my favorites. I’ve wanted to shoot a wedding at Lost Dutchman State Park forever and these two amazing people came along and magic happened.
Thanks to Michael and Taylor for making me feel like a member of the family and for having such a beautiful, intimate event.
This was my last spring wedding in 2018 before heading out to chase storms for the next two months. And it was a heck of a way to finish. Had so much fun with Danielle and Kevin, their tiny little elopement with a few friends and family, and the food/drinks at the end of the night.
Not to mention rushing out for an epic sunset shoot as well. Hope you enjoy!
Morgan and Tony’s wedding in December at Brophy and then Desert Foothills was just one of my favorites of 2018. Such a lovely, fun couple and their friends were such a blast to work with! I haven’t laughed that hard at a best man’s toast before and Morgan’s dad made myself, and the entire room, weep when he told a story of finding a glowing star on the ceiling of her childhood room.
I love these images…hope you guys enjoy!
James and Ayla’s wedding was so unique and at such a rad little venue down in Tucson. Never shot there before, it was lovely and intimate and definitely worth checking out.
Thanks to these two for being such amazing clients, we had a ball first on their engagement session in downtown Phoenix but their wedding was utterly great as well. Hope you enjoy these!

One of my annual traditions around these parts is to post a nice recap of the year in photos. They range from road trips with friends, family pics, wedding, photoshoots and of course, storm images. It felt like a different year overall, a little more subdued, with spring chasing offering slightly less excitement this time around and a couple less weddings. But wow it was a blast of a year regardless!
The year kicked off at a little shoot with a former bride and groom from Australia and their new baby girl, and then I was off on a road trip with Jay, Jason and Andrew to Death Valley and the eastern Sierras. From there it was wedding season, then storm chasing on the plains, followed by epic haboob and lightning action across Arizona during the monsoon, and finally fall weddings and family portraits. Toss in some wonderful family moments, it was a year to remember.
It also marked my fourth year as a full-time photographer and it keeps getting better and better. I still feel incredibly blessed that I get to do this everyday.
Hope you enjoy this look back at some of my favorite images, including at least a photo from almost every wedding and family session!
