Right now Misti and Brian are on their honeymoon in New Zealand, making the rest of us about as jealous as you can get. While I’m sure they are out and about and enjoying the beauty of that place, I’m also curious if they needed a few days just to rest up from the wedding. I know I did.
Which is a good thing. The dancing at this wedding was epic. It lasted for hours. In fact, I left a bit after 11pm and there was still an after-party supposed to happen at the bar across the courtyard. I’m sure it went all night, I’ve seen pictures on Facebook of a bridesmaids’ pyramid happening!
I love the glimpses you get into people’s lives when you shoot weddings. There was so much love for Misti and Brian. A gaggle of bridesmaids (their term, not mine, but I love) did nothing but make Misti’s entire day amazing. Brian’s buddies did the same. The entire wedding party was really just a giant group of friends having the time of their lives. Everyone was so relaxed, you would hardly know two people were about to embark on the biggest journey of their lives. Maybe it was all the drinking. Maybe it was something more.
It was an honor to be a part of it. I can honestly say this was some of the most fun I’ve ever had doing this.
And let’s face it…the wedding was at The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous venue. And the wonderful Lauren ran the show flawlessly and made sure everything came off without a hitch. It was a treat to be able to photograph at a place like this. I also cannot wait to see the wedding video shot by the people from The Story is Told. I appreciate the way they worked together with us to make sure we all got our angles and shots!
I was pretty relaxed myself and that was because I had the maestro Jeff Ambrose second shooting with me. You can’t ask for a better partner in crime.
Thank you Misti and Brian for letting me do this for you guys…I hope you had a spectacular honeymoon and I can’t wait to see the pictures!
This house below rents for $5000 a night. Beyonce and Jay-Z had their honeymoon there. Not joking.
Here Misti’s dad gets “Iced”…a tradition amongst their friends and family. If someone hands you a Smirnoff Ice…well, you have to down it…right then and there.
