The Hough girls
These ladies…mom Jaime and her two daughters Robyn and Rhylie, traveled across country all the way from Iowa to Arizona, to see the Grand Canyon, In & Out Burger, other sights and to have me take their photos. Unbelievable. I was so excited to meet the two little ones for many reasons, but one was because I heard they had questions for me. About storm chasing of course and when the eldest stood in front of me with a piece of paper, I knew this was a legit interview.
“What’s the best storm you’ve ever chased?”
“Do you take your kids with you?”
It was awesome. I loved them immediately, but of course I’ve been seeing them a ton on Facebook already. I’m friends with Jaime who is a photographer herself and posts some beautiful images of these two girls on a daily basis. I kinda felt like I knew them all already. They were full of life and energy and it was one of the most enjoyable times I’ve had taking photos of people. And I felt a special bond with Robyn because we both have had “vampire teeth” in our lifetime…her’s are happening right now, mine happened back when I was her age haha.
Thank you girls for spending some time with me, the hugs at the end, and for just being yourselves. I truly hope I get to see you all again, with dad next time as well!
Have an amazing Christmas you guys!
Mike, you just showed me another side of yourself! I really appreciated your creative ways of recording the stormy weather patterns. I must admit that I have not seen many of your wedding images but this shoot with your friend and her girls shows me how successfully you capture relationships between people in so many poignant ways! I feel like I know these lovely ladies! Keep up the fantastic work and all the best of luck to you in weather related imagery. A fan in Perth, Western Australia.
Cheers,
Bea
