Five years ago today, our adoption lawyer called us to say “Did you know your son was born yesterday?” We had no idea. We had thrown a Super Bowl Party and were oblivious to the fact that our soon-to-be-adopted son was born on February 5th, 2012. No one called us to let us know. But after hanging up with our lawyer, we flipped out, and drove right to the hospital to meet him and his birth mom.
It’s incredible to be here, five years later, seeing what kind of little boy he’s become and excited about what the future holds. And to think that most of the time, we totally forget he’s adopted. He’s just us. The five of us. I love our little family and we’d be lost without this dude.
