The Carusone family
I love, love, love referrals and so I want to thank my friends Joel and Kim for passing my name on to the Carusone family! We met up Sunday in Tempe to get some updated family photos. Although…we were supposed to have met up a few weeks prior, but suddenly there was a massive triathalon going on that day, so we had to reschedule. Dena loves this area around the Tempe Center for the Arts and really wanted to have their photos taken with it as the backdrop. Had a blast with these guys. The three brothers, Erik, Logan and [...]
An evening out at Four Peaks
The last six weeks have been filled with nothing but photoshoots, which has been absolutely amazing and huge for me. I’m so excited about where things are headed . But it also left little time for me to get out of the house to shoot other things. And I missed that. So on Monday when there were reports of snow on the outlying deserts, I packed up the car, including my daughter, and made a beeline for…well, the Beeline Highway. And the Four Peaks area. The sky was magnificent of course, the Peaks had snow, the desert was gorgeous and [...]
The Ross family
I went to high school with Melanie…which was…yeah, a long time ago. We didn’t run in the same circles really, but she has always been one of my favorite people that I remember from high school. She and her friend Lori were short, cute and the nicest people that you’d ever meet. They were almost like twins. They were always together. And they had a unique way about them…like standing out in front of the school just waving at people as they drove up. Not just a normal wave, but like they were in a beauty pageant or something. I [...]
Four Peaks
(click to view on black // canon 5d mark ii, canon 70-200 2.8 is l, 115mm, f/14, iso 100, 0.5 sec // buy print) It’s been awhile since I posted a landscape or weather photo on the blog, and even longer since I’ve actually been out shooting that stuff. But an early winter storm woke me up a bit and the reports of snow on the outlying areas of town Monday morning kicked me into gear. I picked up Lyla from the sitter just after 3pm and we made our way towards Horseshoe Lake, where I had seen snow earlier [...]
The Kruckenberg family
Photographing the Kruckenberg fam is always a treat because…well, look at ‘em. Nothing but cuteness everywhere. Yeah, even Brian, whatever, I said it. We’ve known this family for a long time now. Brian is the pastor at the church we attend called New City in downtown Phoenix. In fact, a large part of the reason we live downtown in the first place was to help that church get going. It’s been awesome to watch what is happening with it and how it’s growing. They’ve been huge in our lives and we love them to pieces. Tuesday evening we hooked up [...]
Rachel + Scott | Engaged
I met Rachel over a year ago at a showing she did at our New City Studio gallery for First Friday. She had some killer images of children from Uganda, taken when she was volunteering with Food for the Hungry. We’ve stayed in touch as she continues to learn more and more about photography and hopes to eventually start her own business. Along the way she mentioned something about this boy Scott and the fact they might get married. I was like…that’s awesome! So when is the wedding? She said they weren’t engaged yet, she’d let me know. So I [...]
The Sanchez family
Brandy and her cute family have been doing big store studio photo sessions ever since they had kid number one. But last time out it didn’t go so well, so she wanted to try something different. She asked me to shoot her little boy’s 1-year photos, plus just general family pictures of her other two girls, Jayden and Lili. I am obviously a huge fan of outdoor, lifestyle photography, so I couldn’t have been more excited to show this family how much fun you can have just walking around taking pictures. We ventured down to one of the Rio Salado [...]
The Servin family
The day after Thanksgiving is usually the day everyone goes shopping. For me though, it’s the day I take pictures of the Servin family. I turn 37 in February, which means I’ve been friends with Sam and his family for over 20 years now. Definitely my oldest friend that I still get to see here and there. He was the best man at my wedding and now here we both are married with young kids growing up right before our eyes. I’m so proud of him and his little clan. But that’s not everyone who showed up for picture day. [...]
One shot – Rachel + Scott | Engagement
A single frame from Rachel and Scott’s engagement shoot down in Tucson at the Pima Air and Space Museum. There were a lot of planes there. And this cute couple. Posted another sneak over on my Facebook fan page, check it out, become a fan. More to come.
One shot – Rob and Anna | Wedding
Not that long ago I helped my amazing friend Trevor Dayley shoot Rob and Anna’s wedding. This marked the first time I’d ever second-shot for someone and it was a blast. It’s a great way to hone your skills, practice techniques, learn from a fellow photographer and to just be out there shooting as much as you can. I have my own weddings coming up next year, but also am planning on a few more second-shooting outings as well, so I’m pumped! This wedding was spectacular and Anna looked absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to post the entire wedding because [...]
