Elaina + Caleb | Wedding

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings comes way before the actual day. The first time I meet a couple, I get to find out their stories. How they met. Where they went on their first date. How he proposed. The stuff that brought them to this point. Of course you only get a small slice of that story, but it’s amazing how different they always are.

Elaina and Caleb met playing a computer game. Ultima Online. I remember hearing about that game, but never playing it. They got to know each other better, phone calls happened, but they never met. Not for a long time. I hope I have my facts straight, but it was something like five years before they decided to meet in person. And the story of why they finally met is so sweet. But it’s not mine to tell.

Let’s just say…they finally knew they were meant for each other.

I’d been excited for the wedding ever since meeting these guys. They were both just so much fun and laid back, I knew it was going to be a great time. They had family coming in from all over…Elaina’s was from New York. It was a small wedding, but you could tell the friends and family there loved these two immensely.

I had such a blast hanging out with them for the day. They were so relaxed, everyone in the wedding party was incredibly friendly and the parents were some serious dancers. You can check out some of the shots of Elaina’s father cutting a rug below. Some of the moves he made would likely have blown out my knees if I tried them!

Thank you guys for letting me be a part of this amazing chapter in your lives. I wish you both incredible happiness and many more hours of online gaming!

(special thanks to Rachel Esarey for second shooting with me!)

Jessica + Mason | Engaged

Jessica and Mason are getting hitched in April and I cannot wait for the wedding. These two grew up in Denver and have known each other forever. A whole entourage of friends will be arriving from Colorado to celebrate with them, including 18 people in the wedding party!

And a party it will be. They’ve rented a vacation home up in Cave Creek where they and their friends will stay leading up to and even after the wedding.  Can’t even imagine how much fun that will be. The house is supposedly awesome, and if rumor is true, has an in-ground trampoline.

You know they’ll be pictures on that thing.

It’s awesome to see two people so close to completing an epic journey. Had such a fun time hanging with these two on Saturday, cannot wait for April 21st!

One from Elaina and Caleb’s wedding

Elaina and Caleb got married yesterday. Then they stood in this tunnel for me. More to come!

Jessica and Mason got engaged

Shooting Jessica and Mason’s wedding on April 21st. There’s going to be 20 people in the wedding party…so we warmed up on Saturday with just the two of them.

Brianna | Senior Portraits

It’s been a long time since I was in high school. A long time. In fact, the big two-decade reunion is coming up next year. Yikes. Feels like so long ago.

For Brianna though, it’s her final year and the sky is the limit. She loves playing guitar and may attend a college here in town or in California, perhaps the San Francisco area. She doesn’t know yet, which is half the fun of being in her position. Nothing is written, you get to find your path.

She showed up for her session with family in tow…older sister down from Flagstaff just for the pictures, her brother the Dbacks-Red Sox fan and both parents, the dad of which kind of resembled Steve Jobs. You can decide for yourself further down.

Loved hanging out with these guys for awhile. They were a ton of fun and you could tell how much they loved each other.

I wish you all the best of luck going forward! Especially Brianna and this awesome new chapter of your life. Thank you guys!
