Well this year has certainly been a big one for me. Photography for me went from an occasional weather photo and tons of pictures of Lyla, to an explosion of excitement and new experiences. I realized how much I loved it, got a better camera and have been learning and exploring this art form non-stop.
One of the most humbling aspects of this new venture came at Christmas. There were four separate Christmas cards (including our own) that were made with a photo I took.
I couldn’t ever have imagined that would happen in my wildest dreams. I mean, who even thinks that if you don’t do this for a living.
So below is a layout of the four cards and then I’ll follow that with each original photo.
Keep me in mind for next year, I may start doing this semi-professionally *grin*

The spread of cards…

This is obviously our Christmas card photo. I took it while in Jefferson over the Thanksgiving holiday. Lyla was swinging and I timed the shot to snap when she reached the peak of the swing. One of my most favorite photos of her.

This is the photo that Jina’s sister Jennifir used, which is of Jackson, our nephew. It may not be too hard to tell that both this one and Lyla’s were shot in the same place on the same day *grin* I knew it turned out great, but didn’t know for sure they were going to use it as a Christmas card until we got it in the mail. Her church voted it the best X-mas card of the year!

Here are the Klein girls. Irelynn, Maddy, Katy and Tatum from left to right. These girls are all so insanely cute, it wasn’t that hard to get a good shot. You can see the rest of their photoshoot by clicking here.

Kathy Wild had me take photos of her kids as well, which you can see by visiting this other blog post. She decided to go with a Christmas card that was double-sided and used two pictures, so this top one is the first and the one below is the flip-side. Tessa, Abby and Cade.

Great shots Mike! If Matt and I “hire” you now, can we get the before Mike got famous discount?
Keep at it!
YAY! They are all AWESOME! Thanks again!
Uh oh, does that mean you’ll be charging for this next year???? Mr. Semi Pro!
